Unfortunately, there are a lot of jerks out there. When they have to design stuff, it makes everyone else’s life harder. People are sharing examples of this online and it grinds my gears.
Somehow these folks are clever for coming up with this stuff, but they’re being a real jerk about it. If these frustrate you as much as it does me, consider these examples of brilliant design as a palate cleanser.
1. “My university charges you to access your academic documents, despite costing you thousands of dollars a year to attend.”
2. “There’s unskippable video ads and a premium subscription in f*ckng MICROSOFT SOLITAIRE”
3. “MacAfee I already bought this computer for 1000 dollars how about you go fuck yourself with your popup ads every 10 minutes”
4. “You pay the 0,25€ even if you don’t take a drink”
5. “This website making you wait MINUTES to view their site without cookies.”
6. “My Internet service provider uses emergency alerts to advertise itself”
7. “Domino’s intentionally mislead people to accept unwanted Email and SMS marketing when checking out their online Pizza Order”
8. “This advert disguised as a missed parcel note from the post office.”
9. “They ask for permission but don’t allow me to opt out”
10. “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC tries to install McAfee without any permission or warning.”
11. “DoorDash recommends a tip of 30%. Doesn’t even give 20% as a a default option”
12. “Spent 20 minutes looking for the “Cancel Subscription” button. This is the only way to cancel a Surfshark subscription.”
13. “You unsubscribe yet you’ll still get emails for at least 10 days. Or longer if they put you on a different list”
14. “Must check box to continue. “Yes I am 18 years of age. And I guess I am forced to receive your emails now too!”
15. “Do young have to recommend me twice”
16. “Instagram won’t let you pause all notifications for more than 8 hours”
17. “I’m sorry, my email wants to do what?”
18. “Auto changing reviews is a sh***y design”
19. “Paramount + Ad Free plan…Sometimes”
20. “7 years after this sh***y album came out and forced down our throats, it keeps reappearing on my Mac no matter how many times I try to remove it.”
21. “Insurance wouldn’t cover pills, only capsules. Script went from $2.73 to $56.91 because of that. It’s literally a pill shoved into a capsule. Complete BS”
22. “Soo.. Never 30% off then?”
23. “Proposed new congressional map of Dallas is ridiculously gerrymandered”
24. “Notice the extremely small “up to” could’ve fooled me if I wasn’t at a stop light.”
25. “My phone came with Facebook and I can’t uninstall it, I don’t even use Facebook.”
