Being an independent contractor has its benefits, but many downsides come with it. You have to advocate for yourself, and in an office setting you’re sort of looked down upon at times.
There’s no better example than Caleb, an independent contractor who received a message from an uptight “boss” who threatened to fire him for not attending a meeting, even though it wasn’t required in their agreement.
